So A has had some trouble paying the oil bill, and twice I’ve had to pay it off in order to get more so we can have heat and more importantly, hot water. Well, she’s about to move out and essentially owes me $630. I’m thinking about proposing that she gives up her security deposit and pays me the difference. This way she doesn’t have to worry about coming up with this money in as timely a manner as I would like, and I don’t have to trouble myself with getting her half from the landlord, giving it to her, then getting a deposit from a future roommate and getting it to my landlady.
Is this a good idea, or am I thinking too far outside the box?

As most of the nation has probably heard by now, the asshattery that is the Sox-Yankees rivalry has grown to epic proportions in the last few days. For those that haven’t,
A New York Yankees’ fan was accused on Monday of murdering a Boston Red Sox supporter and injuring another by running both down with a car after a heated argument over one of America’s oldest sporting rivalries.
“The forensic evidence at the scene indicates tire tracks going about 200 feet that did not swerve or brake,” Morrell said. “He went onto the windshield and then when the car hit the parking meter he was ejected,” she added.
She “wanted to scare them” because they were giving her shit about being a Yankees fan.
wtbrosie put it perfectly, “why do dumb people use the oxygen others need?” I fully agree and wish I was Queen of the World ™ so I could give that woman the chair for being an asshat.
Dan over at Red Sox Monster has an idea to honor the guy that was killed. The rivalry should be all in good fun people.

Not that I’m NOT usually goofing off at 11 am on a Monday morning, but today is especially goofing since I’m at an Excel I class AND am playing online. I’m actually pretty bored here, mostly because so many of the people in the class are SO FAR behind me. Don’t get me wrong, I’m learning some stuff, mostly about shortcuts and making things easier, but it’s all basics. I’m really looking forward to Excel II, which I will sign up for tomorrow.
I’m also going to try to get my car in the shop tonight, as well as my rental. I’m really hoping that this time I can convince Enterprise that I DON’T want an SUV this time; in fact, I WON’T take one.

1. What’s one of the nicest things a friend has ever done for you? Brought me home the morning of my brothers death and then traveled back and forth for the wake and funeral.
2. What’s one of the nicest things a stranger has ever done for you? Gave me an old sweatshirt for my head and kept me calm after I’d been in a car accident.
3. What is a trait in another person that you instantly admire, and that draws you to them? An open, friendly smile that is reflected in their eyes.
4. What is a trait in another person that instantly repels you, and prevents you from forming a close relationship with them? Debbie Downers
5. Time to vent: tell us about something rotten someone has done to you. Probably try to convince my closest friends that my girlfriend was cheating on me so she could have her.

As usual on Thursday mornings, I was running a tad behind, but I wasn’t going to let that or the construction on one of the streets I take prevent me from getting my sweet, sweet “small iced toasted almond, milk and 2 Splenda.” I go through an intersection, approaching a side street that had been turned into a major roadway since the construction began. Now, this is a one-way street that does NOT allow lefts; yet every asshat for the last week has been taking lefts due to being re-routed. Fine, whatevs. Yet today the drivers, or rather, one driver in particular, was especially stupid and decided to drive out in front of me, forcing me to slam my breaks (thank Hermes I was only going a max of 10mph). Unfortunately, the massive TRUCK (one of those biggies that also happened to be towing a trailer) was behind me and wasn’t able to stop before slamming into me.
wtbrosie and I are both fine, and my car is relatively fine as well–I have a pretty big hole taken out of the bumper, but that is all I can see for damage. The driver of the truck was very nice, and was even able to score the info of the asshat that created this mess. My insurance company is quickly coming to hate me, I’m sure.

I’m always looking to get fun and interesting gifts for my family becasue they are difficult to buy for and I hate giving crappy dust-collectors or boring t-shirts. Now I have another site I can search. I really should get my dad the jumbo remote control because he keeps losing his and also has trouble seeing the buttons. Not to mention the fact that he’s so clueless about technology that he can’t handle more than the basic buttons. Or how about a remote control forklift? Imagine having a bunch of these at a party and being able to deliver drinks and snacks! Everything is covered; office, home decor, kitchen and even auto. I’ve seen a lot of the stuff offered here on other sites, but there are a good amount of unique items available here as well.

Except this is real life. As Jen said in her blog, if this article doesn’t make you cry, you have no soul.

This weekend was kind of a bust. Friday was great because we went to Fire & Ice for
x_bluerose_x’s birthday. As usual,
brontosproximo,
starfire91,
mizdarkgirl and
wtbrosie were being old biddies; gossiping and discussing life. It was
wtbrosie’s first time at Fire & Ice, and I think she had a lot of fun–she gets along famously with the others too, which makes me squee–not many of my friends can totally get along with this group!
Unfortunately, the fun was short-lived because the next day I did not get out of bed till 4 (we even went to sleep at a halfway reasonable hour–I want to say 1-ish), and ONLY because
wtbrosie called. I rolled out of bed feeling very light-headed and dizzy with a little bit of GI angriness, thinking that a few glasses of water and a shower would help. Yeah, not so much. I proceeded to curl up on the couch and beg her to bring me Gatorade (the little cutie brought me three different types of beverage AND Ritz AND a flower from the Tulip tree outside of her work). I felt so bad, but she took such great care of me, even though I was not very conducive to her getting studying done. I recovered for the most part, and was able to eat Bertuccis for dinner. Sunday I felt really good until about halfway through poking around downtown Plymouth when I NEEDED a Gatorade and rest. I started to feel better, and even wound up ordering a chili burger at Red Robin. That however was a mistake and we wound up pulling over at a fast food place in Weymouth. Not a good thing.
Luckily, today has shown vast improvement–not one dizzy spell, no nausea. Lunch is right where it belongs, and I have a good feeling that dinner will stay there too, provided I keep it light.

I did not renew my domain when I was supposed to, so had a little down-time the last few days. But everything (execept my brain and guts, but that’s another post) is in working order again.
